Welcome to the
home of the
Restoration Caucus
. . . a group of Libertarians
seeking to restore the Libertarian Party's 2004 Platform as the basis for
our 2008 Platform.
We believe that the butchered version adopted in 2006
was a classic case of "throwing out the baby with the bath water," and
urge the Platform Committee to undo the damage that was done in Portland.
We do not see this proposal as being either "radical" or "reformist."
Restore '04! is simply an attempt to restore our party's
long-standing stance on the key issues facing America. We realize that
some changes will be necessary to keep our platform current, but we
strongly believe that the 2004 Platform offers a better starting point for
2008 than does the truncated 2006 version. The text of the 2004 Platform
is provided on this website for your convenience.
If you support this proposal, please go to the petition page and enter
your name and e-mail address, along with your state party affiliation. You
will receive a reply to confirm that you did in fact sign up,
and then your name will be added to the list of signatories. In addition,
a message will be sent to the Platform Committee informing
them that you support Restore '04!
Please note that the Restoration Caucus neither supports nor opposes any
of the announced candidates for the Libertarian Party's presidential
nomination. We do, however, urge each of them to support this effort, and
we will post a list of all candidates who sign the
petition.
Please click here to read the petition and sign it today.
